Follow button woes

One aspect I have tried to customize away is the follow button/panel in the bottom right corner. Apparently, this can not be completely removed! atleast I have not been 100% successful.

The annoyance can be minimized by accessing the wordpress admin dashbord.*yoursite*.wordpress.com/wp-admin
